Description
This is an opportunity to own the same Sunburst Jug listed/photographed in Frank Hahn’s 1996 Collector’s Guide to Owens Pottery. It’s the exact piece illustrated on page 96, item 200. It is in mint condition and is 5.5”Tall.Adding further value, this piece was once part of the
White Pillars Museum
collection and has their sticker on its bottom.
This piece has the full signature of “Excell.” On its side.
Cecil Excell was an artist who worked at all of the major Zanesville Pottery Companies.
This Sunburst jug was great colors that are similar to the color scheme used on Weller’s Aurelian ware.
The only difference is that Sunburst pieces are considerably rarer than Aurelian pieces.
I use plenty of bubble wrap and Styrofoam peanuts during packing to ensure each item arrives in the same condition I shipped it. I also require
each item be fully insured by the USPS mail service.
